Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Proven Safe and Effective.
TMS is a premier alternative treatment for depression.

Today, millions are treated for depression. Unfortunately, for many people, treating depression with antidepressants either doesn't work or causes unpleasant side effects. If you have symptoms of depression or have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Dr. Craig Vine offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at Psych Recovery, Inc., and it is as a viable alternative treatment for depression without using traditional depression medication that may cause unwanted side effects.

TMS Therapy gives new hope for recovery from depression.

Dr. Vine now offers TMS therapy using an advanced new medical device called the NeuroStar TMS Therapy System. It is a safe and effective alternative to antidepressant medication for treating depression.

TMS has been proven in clinical trials as a safe and effective alternative treatment for all types of depression. The FDA-approved (in October 2008) NeuroStar TMS Therapy® has shown positive results in treating patients suffering from major depressive disorder, all of whom had not reported satisfactory improvement with previous antidepressant medication.

Your NeuroStar TMS Therapy® treatment session is a short outpatient procedure lasting less than 40 minutes, where you can relax in the treatment chair in a comfortable setting. This non-invasive, alternative depression treatment doesn't require anesthesia or sedation so you can immediately return to your normal routine, including driving.

About TMS Therapy

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy is an innovative therapy for the treatment of Major Depression and certain other neuropsychiatric disorders. Using highly focused, MRI strength magnetic pulses, TMS activates specific regions of the brain which regulate mood.

TMS uses the same strength of magnetic fields as MRIs, which have been used in tens of millions of patients around the world. It is a short outpatient procedure performed by Dr. Vine in the outpatient mental health clinic at Psych Recovery, Inc.

Unlike medications, which act throughout the entire body, TMS does not cause side effects such as weight gain or sexual dysfunction.

Who is TMS for?

TMS can be effective even if your antidepressants haven't worked for you. Unlike other treatments, TMS does not cause memory problems. There is no anesthesia or sedation used, so you can drive after treatment and even go back to work or school.
