Rachel Shoemaker, LMFT, LADC
Rachel Shoemaker is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),
as well as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), who believes
in treating each person and/or family through a holistic, systemic
approach. Rachel works with a variety of people from all different
walks of life, ages 15 and higher. She has a substantial history
with helping those who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma,
and personality disorders. Rachel is particularly passionate about
helping those who struggle with addiction and problematic substance
use, to gain freedom along with strength in their recovery journey.
She also has an expanded scope of practice specifically for mothers
in addiction recovery and their children.
Rachel has specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Perinatal Mental Health. Rachel is
LGBTQIA+ allied, as well as sex-positive/kink affirming in her practice.
In utilizing these approaches, she enters the therapeutic relationship
with humor, validation, and most importantly respect for each individual's
experience.
